The first Larsen Cello A was wound by company founder Laurits Th. Larsen in the family garage, but the company and the string family began to grow. At the same time, the realisation grew that although some of the best things happen by chance, it is our design that makes them truly remarkable. Larsen were the first to put a stop to the constant drive for more volume by increasing string tension. Larsen's development of completely new materials, coupled with high-precision manufacturing techniques, but always with significantly lower tension, has brought the young company the highest level of attention and success worldwide. Larsen Strings develops and produces strings for stringed instruments of the highest musical quality in Sønderborg, Denmark.
